In response to Luke’s point, it’s true that capitalism doesn’t exist without people, but it recruits an awful lot of forces and entities (human and non) that ought not be be reduced to their position within capitalistic human relations.
You might say they sort of purposely under-emphasize humans just as a sort of strategic “let’s look at some other stuff for a bit, humans can be there too but everyone else already talks about them” Bennett, for the record, talks a lot about humans.
