Ahhh this movie was pretty intense. It was a mix of simple political economy: i.e. where the things in some banal consumer product - in this case canned beef and pork ravioli - come from, and a more complex idea. The dreams of the people entangled with the consumer product.
As a result, it really reminded me of the themes in Anna Tsing’s Friction - showing how un-smooth, how hot and full of friction the relationships of global capital are.
